Capital Subaru Gifts SUV to Ukrainian Family

Capital Subaru

On Wednesday, August 10th, Capital Subaru proudly donated a Subaru Forester to a recently resettled Ukrainian family here in St. John's.

Oleksi Senyk along with wife Tata and son Myron arrived in Newfoundland and Labrador on June 14th, 2022, from Dnipro, Ukraine. Oleksi is a chef, Tata a copywriter and English translator and their 15-year-old son Myron is a student, avid soccer player and street acrobatics enthusiast. In search of a vehicle, Oleksii recently visited Capital Subaru to test drive a preowned Subaru that could be affordable, safe, and capable for their new life in our province. Upon learning about the Senyk's heartwarming story, the Subaru team led by General Manager Greg Stowe and General Sales Manager Chris Smith decided to work on a plan to help assist the family. In collaboration with Subaru Canada, Capital Auto Group, and Capital Collision Centre, the Subaru team put together a very special price of $0. In addition, the Subaru had a complete preowned reconditioning and intensive motor vehicle inspection to ensure this Subaru was ready for the road.

Speaking on the decision to donate the vehicle, General Manager Greg Stowe said, "Simply put, no one should ever have to go through what they've gone through. If we can do something positive that assists them in their new journey, then we will. As a community, it's our job to welcome and support Oleksi, Tata, Myron, and all Ukrainians in any way we can.
